choose your last words

Lana Del Rey
Born to Die

This video was shown to me by a close friend of mine recently.
Although I do not know much about Lana Del Rey as an artist I love this video.
I'll say this with the risk of sounding completely melodramatic but- I normally physically and mentally cannot watch music videos like this for reasons that don't really make sense. My closest friends know
that I will literally leave the room, party or restaurant if certain music comes on.
After watching Rihanna's We Found Love for the first time I just about vomited.
Too close to home for me and put too simply. But this video- I don't know. It's good.
The best part about it is that the concept for the video was created completely by Lana Del Ray.
Although, she did not direct the video she was a large part of its creation and production. That says
a lot about her as an artist in my opinion. The quality, color and dynamic is just GOOD.
Although the bed scene is a little much for me....

My favorite line? "You like your girls insane."

hide and seek

Ashes and FireBy: Ryan Adams

As he stared past the fire,His hunger to leave well it gnawed his poor heart alive,Her skin smelled like black cherry, blossom perfume, the sail boats they all sailed byand a river she cried.
and the wind was suddenly sweeter than Roosevelt pine,The windows broke out and the cigarette smoke was drifting by,The bums on the bowery were swallowed in the lights as cars rumbled by in the nightscreaming run for your life.
With cool and silvery eyes and a heart that was fit for desire, drowned in a river of tears oh a river she cried left her with a heartmade of ashes and fire.
One day there was a silence and it washed through the town, and there was no reason to speak so no one made a sound, her eyes were indigo and the cats were all Calico and the sail boats they all sailed byand a river she cried.
With cool and silvery eyes and a heart that was fit for desire, drowned in a river of tears oh a river she cried left her with a heartmade of ashes and fire.
Ashes and fire, Ashes and fire, Ashes and fire.

Damn.

bound by the surprise of our glory days

information over load.
i think it's time to go.
nostalgia is like the plague.

on a lighter note...
I enrolled in yet ANOTHER class at the SAIC today.
It is called Curating and Programming in Film and Installation
eeeeeekkkkkkkk!!!!!! so good. That is on top of my 6 hour sculpture and media class,
6 hour figure drawing class, 6 hour research class, and 6 hour core class.
Oh and a 3 hour 20th century art history class as well. we'll see if i survive this semester...
Surprisingly- I am ready to get back to work.
I miss not sleeping, not eating, constant stress, feeling like
there aren't enough hours in the days, weekends in bars, museums and
vintage stores with my just-as-crazy just-as-ambitious
BEAUTIFUL art kids. Feeling like I have a purpose.
As a highly reactive and self destructive art student- if I stay in one
non productive place for too long I will surely go fucking insane.
It's happening. Although I have LOVED spending time in Austin with
my crazy family (including my beautiful puppy Thea Pearl) best friends,
and Austin's notorious and hyper active art/party/music scene...
I need me some Michigan Avenue <3

and i'll go further than the moon itself

eeeekkkkkkkk I found this beauty while doing one of my weekly 4 hour trips to Barnes and Noble. I've seen this magazine on a couple of blogs but I am very proud and excited to own the first issue. Costed me a fortune, but completely worth it. Hunger's first edition features some AMAZING models and photographers.
Sky Ferreira. Milla Jovovich. Heidi Klum. I mean come on people.
sosososososo beautiful- cannot wait to indulge.

Being home has been good. I've made good decisions. I'm actually HAPPY.
how rare.
Although Ausin, TX has treated me well I am looking forward to getting back to work in Chibaby. I miss the cold and the lights and the parties and the crazy friends and the fashion and MICHIGAN AVENUE. Cosmos, Chanel window shopping, cold dorm rooms and mal nutrition here I come.
SO excited about next semester. I've got a completely new outlook on things and i'm ready to fuckin' rock kids. Stay tuned.
